Panorama Secondary School Guidance: Meeting the Challenge
Secondary school years are full of growth, promise, excitement, frustration, disappointment and hope as students begin to discover what the future holds for them. Secondary school counselor, Mr. Chris Webner, enhances the learning process and promotes academic achievement using classroom, group, and individual interactions with students, educators, and families. The goal is for every student to achieve optimal personal growth, acquire positive social skills and values, set appropriate career goals and realize full academic potential to become productive members of the world community. Webner holds both a master’s degree in human development and counseling, and a specialist’s degree in educational leadership. He continually maintains state certifications for K-12 guidance counseling and educational leadership.
Mr. Webner does not work in isolation. He is part of the total educational program, working closely with Elementary Counselor Mr. Shawn Wharton, At-Risk Supervisor Mr. Shane Arp, School-Police Liaison Mrs. Angie Clouser, School Improvement Specialist Mrs. Mary Breyfogle, and Secondary Principal Mr. Mark Johnston. They provide proactive leadership that engages all stakeholders in the delivery of programs and services to help the student achieve success.
Mr. Webner is aligned to work with the school’s mission to support the academic achievement of all students as they prepare for the ever-changing world of the 21st century. This is done through design, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive and systematic school-counseling program using ASCA National Standards in the academic, career, and personal/social domains.
