About Panorama Schools

Panorama Schools is a progressive district serving 800 students from the communities of Panora, Yale, Jamaica, Bagley and Linden, including the Lake Panorama area.  The Panorama communities support our excellent facilities as evidenced by the successful passage of two bond issues in 1997 and 2007, while still maintaining a low tax rate.

The district’s attractive PK-5 building, built in 1998, includes the addition of four early childhood classrooms in 2010 and an innovative outdoor play space that encourages children to explore their natural environment.  The 6-12 building, extensively renovated in 2010, proudly showcases several new spaces:  644-seat auditorium, art room, industrial technology area, fitness center, and 8 new classrooms.   Both buildings have geothermal technology to provide cost- and energy-efficient air control.

Academically, our students excel in meeting or exceeding Iowa’s proficiency levels.   A high percent of students earn college credits from area colleges while still in high school.  Students experience success as independent learners through involvement in Project CRISS (Creating Student Independence through Student-owned Strategies).  Most recently, the district has implemented Iowa’s Authentic Intellectual Work (AIW) initiative, which provides clear, research-based standards for quality student work and effective instruction.

The district offers students a caring environment, excellent facilities, and top-notch curriculum.  Located in rural Guthrie County only 40 minutes from Des Moines, families who choose to educate their children at Panorama Schools enjoy the best of both worlds!
