Panorama Middle / High School

Welcome to the Panorama Middle and High School web pages.  Panorama boasts exceptional facilities, dedicated staff and opportunities through relationships with Project Lead the Way, Authentic Intellectual Work and the Perry VanKirk Career Academy (DMACC).  We continue striving to provide the best educational program to meet the needs of all students.

Our mission at Panorama is comprehensive student achievement and character development through educational excellence.    The cornerstone of this preparation is a rigorous and demanding educational program for all students.  The main purpose of education is to help our young people to acquire skills and knowledge necessary to become productive citizens who contribute to the betterment of society.

At Panorama we are committed to educating the whole student.  Beyond the rigorous academic programming, we also make a commitment to personal responsibility, respect for those around us, and the pursuit of excellence in all areas including athletics, music, theater, fine arts, and many other pursuits.  Panorama prides itself on giving students access to the very best preparation for pursuits after high school.

As Principal, I have the great fortune to undertake this preparation with committed and talented staff members who value working with parents to realize the promise that our students hold.  Our staff members have spent countless hours this summer taking classes, revamping curriculum, and improving on the skills and knowledge that they bring to the job of educating your students.

My slogan is “Every student learning every day,” and we will do that.  In order for students to take advantage of the exceptional opportunities at Panorama, they must be present at school.  It is the expectation of administration and staff that every student will be punctual and present each class period of each day.  Research and common sense indicate that regular daily attendance by students is important for success.  The student who is absent misses these activities, and no amount of make-up work can replicate them.  Students with irregular attendance patterns, whether excused or unexcused, may find it difficult to be successful in specific classes and may be subject to a loss of graduation credits.  As a result, it is extremely important that parents and/or guardians emphasize the need for students to be punctual and in attendance each day.  Please work with us to minimize the amount of time that your son or daughter misses school.

I look forward to working together to make this another great year at Panorama.

Respectfully,

Mark Johnston
